The Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Mobility of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Canary Housing Institute (ICAVI), headed by Antonio Ortega, has awarded the works for the energy rehabilitation of the group of 60 protected homes Los Lirios, in the municipality of Tías, in Lanzarote, an action financed with European Next Generation funds and part of the program to improve the Archipelago's public residential stock.

The intervention has been awarded to the company Citanias Obras y Servicios S.L.U, for an amount of 1,188,951.77 euros.

This project is part of the initiatives promoted by the Government of the Canary Islands to improve the energy efficiency and habitability conditions of various protected housing developments in the archipelago. In the specific case of Los Lirios, the intervention will allow for the renovation of the buildings' thermal envelope, improvement of insulation to reduce energy demand, increased comfort for resident families, and contribution to sustainability and emission reduction, in line with the objectives of the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).

These works are part of the line of action financed by the Rehabilitation Program for Economic and Social Recovery in Residential Environments, approved within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

The rehabilitation of the Los Lirios homes is added to other planned or ongoing projects in different municipalities, with the aim of moving towards a public housing stock that is "more efficient, sustainable, and dignified." With this batch, the Ministry of Public Works, Housing, and Mobility, headed by Pablo Rodríguez, consolidates its commitment to modernizing the oldest residential complexes, reducing energy consumption and improving the quality of life for families.
