While the housing emergency sweeps across Europe and the housing shortage has become the main problem for Lanzarote residents, the luxury housing market continues to thrive.
The supply for the premium market, which includes homes that exceed 2.5 million euros, has increased by 7% in Spain, according to the latest annual Real Estate Market Report prepared by the Lucas Fox agency.
Luxury goes its own way, so much so that some villas are no longer advertised on idealista.com, the reference portal for most citizens. For example, the luxury real estate page Luxurystate.com has published an advertisement for a villa in Lanzarote for sale for six million euros.
The house, with 472 meters built and 2,500 meters of plot, is located in the Barranco del Quíquire, in Tías, and is on the beachfront.
The property, which includes a main house and two apartments, has a private gym and sauna. In addition, the master bedroom includes a hydromassage bathtub on its terrace overlooking the ocean.
According to the advertisement, it is a villa with advanced home automation that allows "total control of lighting, air conditioning and security from a tablet."
The real estate agency also highlights its privileged location "in a protected area and its absolute privacy with exteriors that guarantee a life surrounded by calm and natural beauty."
"Due to the strict conservation laws in the Canary Islands, a property like this, located in a protected natural environment, would be impossible to build today," the advertisement concludes.
