The Regulatory Council of the Protected Designation of Origin Lanzarote Wines celebrates the new international recognition obtained by Bodega La Geria, which has been distinguished with two gold medals at the Frankfurt International Trophy 2026 for its wines Manto Malvasía Volcánica Seco and Manto Tinto 3 Meses Barrica.

"These awards once again place Lanzarote wines on the international stage and recognize the uniqueness of a viticulture that is unique in the world, marked by the volcanic landscape, the effort of the winegrowers, and the exceptional character of its varieties," they consider on the Council.

The gold obtained by Manto Malvasía Volcánica Seco "highlights the freshness, elegance, and mineral expression of the white wines made on the island, with Malvasía Volcánica as one of its great protagonists".

For its part, the gold medal awarded to Manto Tinto 3 Meses Barrica "also highlights the potential of Lanzarotean reds, capable of expressing the volcanic character of the territory with personality and competing successfully in prestigious international competitions".

From the Regulatory Council, its president, Jorge Rodríguez, has expressed his satisfaction: “These two gold medals are magnificent news for Bodega La Geria and for the entire Designation of Origin. They reflect the excellent work being done in Lanzarote and confirm that our wines, born from a volcanic and unique land, continue to conquer palates within and outside our borders”.
