Lanzarote wines have obtained two Grand Gold Medals and two Gold Medals in the 33rd edition of the Mondial des Vins Extrêmes, held in the Aosta Valley (Italy). This prestigious event, organized by CERVIM and specialized in wines from vineyards cultivated in extreme conditions, has once again recognized the excellence and uniqueness of the island's heroic viticulture.
Bodegas Martinón has obtained a Grand Gold Medal for its Martinón Blanco Seco 2024 and Bodegas Vega de Yuco has also been awarded a Grand Gold Medal for its Malvasía Volcánica sobre lías Princesa Gara 2022.
For its part, Bodega Erupción has achieved two gold medals for its wines Milagro de Magmasía Colección 2022 and Chinija Salvaje Blanco Seco 2024.
"With these new recognitions, Lanzarote wines consolidate their prestige on the international scene, highlighting the effort of winegrowers and wineries that cultivate in an environment as challenging as it is unique: the volcanic soils of La Geria and other areas of the island, where each bunch is the result of artisanal and heroic work," comment from the Regulatory Council.
Jorge Rodríguez, president of the Regulatory Council of the DOP Vinos de Lanzarote, said: “These awards are a source of pride for the entire island and a recognition of the commitment of our winegrowers and wineries. Lanzarote demonstrates, once again, that its wines are not only capable of overcoming extreme conditions, but also of captivating the most demanding palates in the world."
"These achievements reinforce the identity of Lanzarote wines as authentic ambassadors of a unique landscape and a wine tradition that, generation after generation, continues to conquer markets and international juries," he concluded.
