The Lanzarote winery El Grifo has obtained a gold medal with its Malvasía Lías 2022 wine in the The World of Malvasía 2024 contest, celebrated in Istria, Croatia.
El Grifo has been recognized by specialized critics who have highlighted "the unique character of this white wine on lees, an emblematic creation that captures the essence of the volcanic malvasía variety."
The winery explains that "it is a white wine with a straw yellow color with golden hues, an intense aroma of fresh and tropical fruit and flowers, made exclusively with volcanic malvasía grapes from the 2022 harvest, from various selected plots in the Tinajo area."
Since 2010, El Grifo continues, "this aging wine, which has a long and unctuous passage on the palate, with marked natural acidity and citrus notes, has been an award-winning reference in the International Competitions of the winery's 'Collection' range."
