The Regulatory Council of the Lanzarote Wine PDO closed the eleventh Malvasía Week on Sunday, November 9, held from November 3 to 9, a program that turned the island into a sensory stage to experience wine, with the aim of highlighting the wine identity of Lanzarote and its unique landscape.

The 2025 edition consolidated the model of immersive experiences, with high participation from local and visiting audiences, and continued the success of 2024, solidifying Malvasia Week as one of the most anticipated events for wine lovers.

"This eleventh edition confirms that Malvasía Week is much more than an agenda of events; it is a way of understanding our identity, uniting wine, landscape, and art," stated Jorge Rodríguez, president of the Regulatory Council of the DOP Lanzarote Wines.

"The public's response has been magnificent, the immersive experiences format works and reinforces our commitment to sustainable wine tourism, aligned with World Wine Tourism Day. Thanks to wineries, collaborators, and institutions for making it possible."

Astronomy, wine tasting, tours, routes and art

The tour combined enology, culture, and gastronomy. The week kicked off with “Astronomy and Wines of Lanzarote” at the Casa-Museo del Campesino, a guided observation by Astronomía Lanzarote. This was followed by the workshop “Candles and Wines of Lanzarote” at Bodega Vulcano, led by Iranti Velas. The sensory immersion continued with a Synesthetic Tasting at Finca Testeina, Bodegas Vega de Yuco, to explore wine through senses and emotions

The gastronomic proposal “VINOmios (Im)perfectos” brought together creative cuisine and local wines at the Lilium restaurant, inviting guests to play with pairings. Art played a leading role in the studio of artist Rufina Santana, Lanzarote Art Center, with an eno-artistic experience inspired by the island's volcanic soul.

The closing came on Sunday with the "Route through the Wine Landscape," a tour of emblematic sites in La Geria that concluded with a traditional snack, music, and a farewell toast. In addition, the ConVinados offering, available all week at the Nakai restaurant, rounded off the experience with a menu paired with island wines.

The calendar aligned with World Wine Tourism Day, reinforcing the connection between wine and destination. All activities were designed with criteria of sustainability, coordinated mobility, controlled capacities, local suppliers, and waste reduction, with special attention to landscape interpretation and the dissemination of good practices in vineyards and wineries. "We have taken care of mobility, capacities, and landscape interpretation, and we are excited to see how Lanzarote is recognized for its wines," highlighted Nereida Pérez, secretary of the Regulatory Council.

The Regulatory Council of the Lanzarote Wine PDO thanks the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo of Lanzarote, and the Cajamar Foundation for their collaboration, whose support is key to the development and continuity of this annual event.
