The 2025 grape harvest is already underway in Lanzarote, marked by a limited production due to the adverse weather conditions of this campaign. Despite this, wineries and winegrowers face the process with determination and commitment to excellence. The first variety to enter the winery has been, as is tradition, the emblematic Malvasía Volcánica, the island's oenological jewel.

The David Fernández Winery was in charge of officially opening the campaign on July 16, with the collection of the first batches of Malvasía Volcánica. This was followed, the next day, by the wineries Volcán del Sol (Casa Althay) and Titerok-Akaet. In the following days, Vega de Yuco, El Raso and Bodega Olivina also joined, thus completing the first collection block.

During this week, the rest of the wineries attached to the Protected Designation of Origin Vinos de Lanzarote will join the harvest, completing the start of a campaign that, although reduced in quantity, is presented as an opportunity to redouble the commitment to quality. Among them, the wineries El Grifo and Cohombrillo began the harvest yesterday, July 21, thus joining the first wineries to start work.

From the Regulatory Council of the DOP Vinos de Lanzarote, a very limited harvest is expected for this 2025. “The irregular budding and weather conditions have considerably affected the vineyard's yield,” explained Nereida Pérez, secretary of the Regulatory Council. “Even so, we are confident that the harvested grape will offer a high concentration and expression, faithful to the unique character of Lanzarote wine.”
