The Regulatory Council of the D.O. Wines of Lanzarote welcomes 2026 with a new agenda of activities designed to bring wine culture closer to residents and visitors. After a start to the year with great participation in the first events held, the Denomination of Origin presents a calendar that invites discovery of wine from the territory, tradition, and creativity.

The program kicked off on past  March 7 with a hiking route at Bodega Erupción, where attendees were able to explore the volcanic landscape and get a close look at the work that defines the Lanzarote cultivation model. The experience will continue on April 25 at Bodega Rocanegra and will have a new appointment in June with Bodega Jable de Tao, offering different perspectives on a vineyard that is part of the island's landscape and identity.

Spring will host one of the most relevant moments of the wine calendar, the Act of Qualification of the 2025 Vintage, which will be held the first week of May at the Peasant's House-Museum. This institutional act will highlight the result of the last harvest and the effort of winegrowers and winemakers in an environment of unique conditions.

In July arrives the awaited Enogastronomic Experience in the Cactus Garden, an event that combines architecture, landscape and gastronomy with a selection of wines from the Denomination of Origin and August brings back “Once upon a vine…”, the storyteller for adults that unites literature and wine in an already consolidated format within the cultural agenda of the DO. Stories narrated among whites and reds that turn each encounter into "an intimate and sensorial experience".

The year culminates with the Malvasía Week 2026, from November 2 to 8, a celebration dedicated to Lanzarote's most emblematic variety and its projection within and outside the Canary Islands.

Formation and commitment to the vineyard

The Regulatory Council's agenda also includes training proposals aimed at the general public. The tasting courses, which have already aroused great interest among wine lovers in previous editions, will be held again this year to continue bringing wine knowledge closer to those curious to learn more about it. Through these sessions, participants will be able to get started in sensory analysis, discover the particularities of Lanzarote wines and learn to identify aromas, nuances, and styles.

These trainings have consolidated themselves as a meeting space between amateurs and professionals, where wine becomes a tool to better understand the territory, the varieties cultivated on the island, and the work that is behind each bottle.

Alongside the proposals open to the public, the Regulatory Council continues to develop its training program aimed at the sector. From the hand of the agronomist and oenologist Julio Prieto, technical sessions are being held focused on vineyard care, plant health, and continuous quality improvement.

The first session, 'Planning and training in respectful pruning', held on January 30 and 31, was very well received by the sector. The program will continue on March 25 and 26 with a new session dedicated to 'Diseases and pests', and will be completed with three more sessions in the coming months.

With this initiative, the DO Vinos de Lanzarote reinforces its commitment to the sustainability of cultivation and to the preservation of a unique viticultural model in the world.

“We want wine to be a meeting point with our landscape and with our culture. Each activity is an invitation to rediscover the value of a territory that has known how to convert difficulty into identity,” points out Jorge Rodríguez, president of the Regulatory Council.

The Regulatory Council invites all interested persons to consult dates, registrations and news through its official social networks @vinosdelanzarote, where the details of these and more activities will be announced throughout the year.
