The Institute of Tourism of Spain (Turespaña), an autonomous body attached to the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, has published a new call for 36 training scholarships for the completion of professional internships, with the aim of providing its beneficiaries with practical experience in the development of the functions attributed to the State's tourism administration.
The call, the summary of which was published a few days ago in the Official State Gazette (BOE), includes 32 scholarships in the Spanish Tourism Offices abroad and four in the central services of TURESPAÑA, in Madrid. The scholarships will have a duration of twelve months, with the possibility of extension for another twelve, and have a total maximum endowment of more than two million euros. The annual gross amounts have been updated to better adapt them to the cost of living in the different destination cities.
The objective of these scholarships is to achieve greater qualification and training of the human resources of the Spanish tourism sector, promoting knowledge of international source markets, the differential attributes of the Spain tourism brand, and international tourism promotion policies and tools.
The application submission deadline ends on September 14, 2026.
Scholarships in Tourism Offices worldwide
Training in the Spanish Tourism Offices abroad also allows for firsthand knowledge of market intelligence work and the implementation of TURESPAÑA's tourism marketing plans. In the last five years, more than 80 scholarship holders have completed their training in these offices.
Currently, the network consists of 32 offices, located in the following cities: Abu Dhabi (42,994 euros), Berlin (29,736 euros), Bombay (31,786 euros), Brussels (27,616 euros), Buenos Aires (38,696 euros), Canton (47,525 euros), Chicago (40,716 euros), Copenhagen (36,866 euros), Dublin (35,002 euros), Stockholm (34,645 euros), Frankfurt (29,736 euros), Helsinki (33,895 euros), The Hague (32,402 euros), Lisbon (24,946 euros), London (46,940 euros), Los Angeles (40,716 euros), Mexico City (38,601 euros), Miami (40,716 euros), Milan (27,895 euros), Munich (29,736 euros), New York (40,716 euros), Oslo (36,705 euros), Paris (31,577 euros), Beijing (47,525 euros), Rome (27,895 euros), Sao Paulo (33,227 euros), Singapore (53,931 euros), Tokyo (52,685 euros), Toronto (30,599 euros), Warsaw (27,955 euros), Vienna (32,839 euros), and Zurich (44,736 euros).
For the four positions in the central services of Madrid the salary amounts to 17,094 euros per year.
