The Tías City Council today closed the five Training Programs in Alternation with Employment (PFAE) at the Tegoyo Hostel, which have allowed the training and work of 75 unemployed people for 11 months. 25 people were also hired to create the management, teaching and administrative team for these programs.

The PFAEs that are ending are La web de Tías 4.0, Playas seguras IV, Construyendo futuro IV, Tías en Verde II and Dinamiza Tías II. These programs were financed by the Government of the Canary Islands through the Canarian Employment Service (SCE) and the working students have obtained an official professional certificate issued by the Ministry of Education.

The closing ceremony was presided over by the mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, the councilor for Employment, Carmen Gloria Rodríguez, and the representative of the Canarian Employment Service, Jorge Guevara, coordinator of the PFAEs in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. The councilors of San Bartolomé and Yaiza, Alma González, Rubén Arca and Águeda Cedrés, also attended.

"From the Tías City Council, we have opted for these PFAEs as a fundamental tool for the development of our municipality. These projects not only strengthen the employability of our residents, but also contribute to the progress of our community, improving services and infrastructures in which many of you have actively participated," said José Juan Cruz.

Carmen Gloria Rodríguez thanked "the dedication, effort and perseverance" of the working students and the management and teaching teams, "because a job well done leaves a clear mark on the community", while expressing her recognition to the City Council staff for their involvement.

Jorge Guevara, for his part, excused the absence of Antonio Ojeda, head of the PFAE section of the SCE, and encouraged those present to "believe in yourselves and believe in your possibilities, because you have tools and skills to prosper in the labor market".

During the event, a video was shown with images of the student-workers and the activities of the five PFAEs detailing the different experiences in this learning process and the corresponding diplomas were presented before the refreshment and performance of Jorge Cañas and Gabriel Cubas on guitar and timple.
