The Lanzarote Business Confederation (CEL) has contributed to the hiring of 48 people in as many companies on the island during the first six months of 2023, through the sixth edition of the 'Lanzarote Employability Plan'.
The initiative is financed by the Employment Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, through resources from the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN).
The Plan favors the hiring of people belonging to vulnerable groups or with greater difficulty for labor hiring. In fact, 47% of the new employees were unemployed people over 45 years of age, with disabilities, or women at risk.
The president of the CEL, Francisco Martínez, considers that "the balance of the Plan in the middle of 2023 is being positive" and valued this project that seeks to improve unemployment figures on the island.
Martínez recalled that the purpose of this initiative is to subsidize full-time employment of unemployed people registered with the Canarian Employment Service, in addition to providing job guidance services to people in a situation of unemployment.
The subsidies of the Plan, which ends on October 30, range between 400 and 650 euros per person.
