The companies that are within the Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC) have registered a notable growth during 2021, with a turnover of 2,983 million euros -45% more than the previous year- and 9,081 new workers, which also represents an increase of 18.43% compared to 2020.
These data come from the 2021 management report presented by the ZEC, which determines that this regime "has consolidated as a very useful tool to attract investments and create new jobs and wealth".
And, despite the crisis experienced in recent years, the regime has achieved a positive advance during 2021: 95 new companies have been included - thus adding 691 entities-.
Regarding income, the firms that have exceeded 50 million euros have doubled and the rest have been between 20 and 50 million, thus increasing by 33% and 11% respectively.
This translates into the companies that are included in the regime have invoiced 4.7 million euros on average.
