The Global South Forum celebrates its sixth edition this Friday with all its tickets sold out. The event, which will take place at the Marina Innova Hub in Arrecife, will reflect on the future, analyzing the most pressing challenges such as the impact of AI or climate change and how they affect the island, in its dual perspective as a tourist destination and a bridge between Africa, America and Europe.

The journalist Alberto Acosta presents the event. After that, Gerd Leonhard, considered one of the most outstanding futurists worldwide, offers a presentation entitled Lanzarote in the age of AI. In it, he talks about The three revolutions (green, blue and purple) and how the island can prosper in the future.

The Councilor for Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands, Jéssica de León, takes over, explaining what tourism in the Canary Islands will be like in ten years and the actions of her department to design it.

Finally, the event concludes with a round table The future of Lanzarote: how to improve the well-being of its inhabitants, which lasts 50 minutes. The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, the director of European Affairs of the Cabildo, Luis Alvarado, and the president of the Chamber of Commerce, José Valle, will participate, debating on what the island should be like in 10 years, the tourism model and its effects on the quality of life of its inhabitants. This table will be moderated by Techy Acosta.
