The traffic of the Port of Arrecife has registered an increase of 3.81% in June, which has meant moving 886,323 tons, according to data from the Port Authority of Las Palmas, which manages the Lanzarote post.
For its part, the Port of Las Palmas increases its total traffic by +30.89% during the month of June. The increase is especially noticeable in the supply of bunkering and in the movement of containers in international transit.
Specifically, during the month of June, 213,752 tons of fuel have been supplied, +37.57% compared to the same month of the previous year, and transits reach +52.28%.
“These data highlight that the positive effect of port traffic continues for our Port as a consequence of the closure of the Suez Canal”, pointed out the president of the Port Authority, Beatriz Calzada.
Regarding the data accumulated in the first six months of 2024, the Port Authority of Las Palmas increases its total traffic by +12.46%, with 15,762,198 tons.
The increase is +14.00% for the Port of Las Palmas, with 13,726,389 tons; followed by the Port of Arinaga, with an increase of +13.49% and 122,282 tons of total traffic; the port of Puerto del Rosario, with an increase of +8.09% with 700,350 tons; and the Port of Salinetas, which decreases its total traffic by -10.43%, with 326,854 tons.
