Between 2013 and 2023, the resident population in the municipality of Tías increased by nearly a thousand people (982) to 21,433 inhabitants, according to data from the Continuous Register of the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
In that period, the town of Tías went from having 6,049 residents to 6,625, that is, almost 600 more people, which means that 58.6% of the population growth of the municipality occurred in this town.
Meanwhile, the residents of Puerto del Carmen barely grew between 2013 and 2023, only increasing by 85 people to 11,566 inhabitants.
The rest of the population increase in the municipality is mainly due to the growth of Macher, which added 365 residents to a total of 1,461 inhabitants.
On the other hand, the resident population that La Asomada lost in the last ten years, in which it has gone from having 850 inhabitants to counting 739 residents, was compensated by the increase in population in Conil, which added 22 inhabitants to 412 and in Masdache, where 73 more people settled to a total of 441 inhabitants.
