The Tourism Federation identifies the business opportunities of the green economy in Lanzarote

“Real business opportunities in the Green Economy sectors” is a report by the Lanzarote Tourism Federation (FTL) that has been presented at the CIFP Zonzamas. This initiative is part of the FTL's Green Entrepreneurship Tourism project, whose objective is to facilitate the transition of companies towards a Green Economy.

The Federation has identified 54 entrepreneurship opportunities in the field of the Green Economy of Lanzarote and La Graciosa. These identified opportunities focus on sectors such as renewable energies, commerce, local products, resource valorization and new technologies applied to the green economy.

Each of the real business opportunities consists of a business sheet that allows a first approximation of key elements for start-up, such as the commercial plan, potential clients, the necessary capital, the scalable value, among others. The study is being presented to the educational community and will soon be published on the Federation's website.

The event was attended by the president of the FTL, Susana Pérez, the director of the Canarian Employment Service, Dunnia Rodriguez, the director of the Zonzamas Integrated Vocational Training Center, Isaac Molina, and Jacobo Fernández on behalf of Deloitte, a collaborating entity of the study.

 

Looking for entrepreneurs among young people

The CIFP Zonzamas was chosen to present the project in order to make it known to young people in training cycles linked to the green economy and awaken their interest in undertaking in this broad field of the green economy, ecological transition and sustainability, with a great future and enormous real possibilities to undertake.

The Support Guide for the transformation towards a green economy was also presented, an online tool that allows companies to know the level of sustainability in the four business dimensions: Strategy, People, Processes and Systems, based on the result from the Federation, recommendations are made so that companies can continue to advance towards sustainable business models and the Green Economy.

For her part, the director of the Canarian Employment Service took advantage of her presence at the CIFP Zonzamas to present the new entrepreneurship portal “Activa Joven Canarias” recently launched, which offers different information services on job offers, training, career guidance and entrepreneurship.

Turismo Emprende EN Verde is an initiative of the Lanzarote Tourism Federation, within the framework of the Strategic Plan of Subsidies of the Canarian Employment Service and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and financed by the European Recovery Instrument-MRR (Next Generation EU Funds).
