Arrecife has marked a record in the arrival of cruise passengers during the past year. The capital of Lanzarote closed 2024 with the disembarkation of 610,176 passengers, which is equivalent to a increase of 20.6% compared to the year percent, according to official statistics released by the Las Palmas Port Authority.

The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, celebrates this great rise in cruise tourism, which "supports the municipal strategy launched by the Arrecife City Council where the escalation of ocean liners strengthens the local economy in sectors such as commerce, hospitality, leisure, transportation and tourist excursions".

According to data from the Las Palmas Port Authority, where the capital's mayor is a member of the APLP's Board of Directors, Arrecife received 104,250 more passengers last year, so that it closed the year with the disembarkation of 610,176 cruise passengers, compared to 505,926 the previous year.

The group of state ports in the province of Las Palmas received a total of 1,871,654 cruise passengers during the past year, so the volume of Arrecife represents 32.6% of the total.

In these coming weeks is scheduled the opening of the new cruise terminal whose construction has been completed in the area of Naos, next to the cruise dock, and Marina Lanzarote. Since last November, the cruise terminal in the area of Los Mármoles came into service. Arrecife will be the only port in the province of Las Palmas with two cruise terminals.
