The port of Arrecife exceeds one million tons between January and July

The port of the capital of Lanzarote experienced an increase of 5.46% in its total traffic during the first seven months of the year

The Port of Arrecife increased its total traffic by 5.46% during the first seven months of the year compared to the same period last year, reaching 1,054,544 tons, according to the Port Authority of Las Palmas.

The Ports of Las Palmas as a whole increased their total traffic by 12.97% during the first seven months of the year, which is 2.1 million tons more than last year, reaching 18.5 million tons.

“We continue with very positive data for our ports, which demonstrate our objective of becoming a Group 1 port" (to which the ports of Barcelona, Bilbao, Valencia, and Algeciras belong), said the president of the Port Authority of Las Palmas, Beatriz Calzada.

The accumulated data from January to July show an increase of 14.31% in total traffic for the Port of Las Palmas, with 16.1 million tons.

In the port facilities of Puerto del Rosario, an increase of 9.94% was recorded, with 825,075 tons; and in the Port of Arinaga, it grew by 15.94% to 143,270 tons. On the contrary, the Port of Salinetas decreased its total traffic by -9.28%, with 388,606 tons.

The group of the five ports of the Port Authority increased its passenger traffic by 5.25% (-1.82% in regular line and +12.85% in cruise), with 1.8 million passengers.
