The port of the capital of Lanzarote registered a 23.4% increase in ship calls in April, according to statistics from the Las Palmas Port Authority.
The increase is mainly due to the new regular transport lines managed by Fred Olsen.
The president of the public entity, Beatriz Calzada, stressed: "The increase in the Port of Arrecife is because it has gone from having three calls in 2024 to 104 in 2025. The ships, mostly, make the Puerto del Rosario-Arrecife-Puerto del Rosario route."
In Puerto del Rosario, it has translated into "199 more calls, where this company did not operate before and now it does with two ships, the Bahía Cargo and the Bentayga Cargo, with origin and destination Puerto de Las Palmas and Puerto de Arrecife, passing through Fuerteventura, Calzada explained."
Another interesting statistical fact is that the Port of Arrecife increases its total traffic by 12.96% in April, with 667,160 tons.
The group of ports of the Las Palmas Port Authority increases its total traffic to reach 11,453,531 tons in the accumulated annual of 2025, which represents an increase of 11.71% compared to last year, that is, 1,200,719 tons more than in 2024.
