The audiovisual podcast Conecta Cienci@ULL continues its programming in September with four new episodes that will bring the public closer to different areas of research carried out at the University of La Laguna. Silvia Alayón, Alberto Domínguez, Noemí Peña and Cristo Hernández will star in the next installments, scheduled for September and October.
The initiative, driven by the Scientific and Innovation Culture Unit (Cienci@ULL) of the University of La Laguna, with the collaboration of the Radio Campus ULL Cultural Hall, seeks to put a face, voice, and closeness to the teaching and research staff of the archipelago and bring university science closer to students and the general public.
The project is based on the latest data from the pioneering MUCICA study, part of the Woman and Girl in Science and Innovation Program promoted by the Canary Agency for Research, Innovation and Information Society (ACIISI), which warns of the existence of few close role models in the field of research for students.
To help reverse this situation and awaken new professional and scientific vocations, Conecta Cienci@ULL offers an accessible and inspiring look at those who research, teach, and generate knowledge from the university.
The first season, consisting of twelve episodes, began its broadcast in May. Under the direction of Luis Javier Capote Pérez, the radio-podcast is initially broadcast through Radio Campus, the University of La Laguna's station, on its iVoox and YouTube channels. Subsequently, each installment is also incorporated into the official YouTube channel of Cienci@ULL.
Four new voices to continue the journey
The September and October programming will allow us to learn about the work of researchers from different areas. On September 11, it will be the turn of Silvia Alayón Miranda, from Computer and Systems Engineering, while on September 25, Alberto Domínguez Rodríguez, from the area of Medicine, will participate. On October 9, the interview with Noemí Peña Sánchez, from Fine Arts, will take place, and on October 30, Cristo Manuel Hernández Gómez, from History and Prehistory, will close this new batch.
These new additions join a transversal journey through ULL science that addresses areas such as Biodiversity and the Environment, Science and Technology, Biomedicine and Health, and Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts.
