The Lanzarote Business Circle has described the first Lanzarote Economic Thought Forum as a "success", held on Friday in Costa Teguise, and hopes to continue with these conferences in 2014. The forum was attended by leading experts in economics and important personalities from the world of politics, such as the former President of the Government, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
The spokesman for the Business Circle, Alfredo Villalba, believes that the objectives set by this economic forum have been met "with flying colors." "The audience has enjoyed these personalities from the world of economics and has had the opportunity to listen to them in person. In addition, the objective of promoting Lanzarote has been achieved," he defended.
The Lanzarote Business Circle managed to bring together in a day of conferences Zapatero, the former Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Miguel Sebastián, the author of "There is life after the crisis", José Carlos Díez, the spokesman for the Spanish Banking Association, Juan José Toribio, the chief economist of Cemex, Manuel Balmaseda, the professor of Applied Economics, Paloma Taltavull. and the deputy director of El Mundo John Müller.
About a hundred people participated in these conferences as audience. "The satisfaction was absolute on the part of the attendees. Also on the part of the speakers, who told us that the audience was paying extraordinary attention," Villalba pointed out.
Given the success of this conference, the Lanzarote Business Circle intends to repeat it in 2014. "That is the idea, but we must recognize that it is quite complicated from an economic point of view to be able to hold a forum of these characteristics. We hope to have the support of different companies next year that will allow us to develop, at least, a forum like this and if possible, improve it," insisted this organizer.
