The number of people affected by an ERTE in Lanzarote increased by 1,164 during January

The island had 21,340 workers in ERTE at the end of the month, 5.7% more than when the year started.

The number of workers affected by a temporary employment regulation file (ERTE) in Lanzarote increased by 1,164 people during January, according to provisional figures from the Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands published by the Cabildo Data Center.

Specifically, at the beginning of last month there were 20,176 workers in ERTE in Lanzarote, while on January 31 there were 21,340, which represents an increase of 5.7%.

By municipalities, Tías is the most affected, with 5,427 workers in ERTE, followed by Arrecife, with 5,305. In Yaiza there are 4,247 people included in an ERTE, while in Teguise there are 2,565, in San Bartolomé 2,447, in Tinajo 1,035 and in Haría 224.

These figures add to the 19,120 unemployed people on the island at the end of January, so there are 40,460 people who are part of the active population in Lanzarote and who are currently unemployed.
