The American investment fund Blackstone, the largest in the world, is preparing the sale of its tourist assets in Spain, according to sources consulted by some national media, including Cinco Días.

Blackstone's hotel division, Hotel Investment Partners (HIP) includes 71 hotels in Spain, of which 22 are in the Canary Islands.

The ones in Lanzarote are the Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort and the Barceló Teguise Beach, both have more than 1,000 rooms and are located in Costa Teguise.

The change of ownership, however, should not imply changes in management, which is contracted in the long term.

In the rest of the islands, others are also for sale, including 6 hotels managed by Barceló, in addition to five hotels managed by Lopesan, four managed by the Dunas group, and three by Alua Hotels (Hyatt).
