The Lanzarote Chamber of Commerce attends the Committee on European Affairs in Brussels

The Chambers of Commerce of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote and La Graciosa, represented by their presidents Juan Jesús Rodríguez Marichal and José Valle, have attended the European Affairs Commission of the Chamber of Spain, held in Brussels and chaired by José Vicente Morata, vice president of the Chamber of Spain and president of the Chamber of Commerce of Valencia. During this forum, priorities of the Spanish business fabric for the next five years were addressed, in a meeting that brought together prominent representatives of the European Parliament and other key institutions of the European Union.

High-level figures participated in the commission, such as Fernando Navarrete, coordinator of the PPE group of the Committee on Fiscal Affairs of the European Parliament, and Jonás Fernández, coordinator of the S&D group in the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs of the European Parliament. Both leaders shared their analysis of the economic and fiscal challenges facing the European Union and their impact on the business sector in Spain.

In addition, the Chambers of Commerce of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote and La Graciosa attended the official reception of the Spanish Ambassador in Brussels, organized on the occasion of the celebration of the European Affairs Commission. During this event, the chamber presidents had the opportunity to present the specific situation and needs of the Canary Islands, emphasizing the importance of finding solutions adapted to the particularities of the island's business fabric in the European context.

The main objective of the trip to Brussels was to hold meetings regarding the water emergency situation or cybersecurity. These issues are of vital importance, not only for the development of the local business fabric, but also to guarantee the economic sustainability of the islands within the framework of the European Union.

The Chambers of Commerce of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote and La Graciosa reiterate their commitment to continue actively representing Canarian companies in European forums, working in the search for solutions that promote economic growth and strengthen the competitiveness of the islands.
