The creation of companies increases in the Canary Islands by 27% in one year

So far this year, 3,394 businesses have been created in the archipelago, while another 1,849 have been dissolved.

The creation of companies in the Canary archipelago grew by 26.8% in the last twelve months. So far this year alone, 3,394 businesses have been created, according to the Business Radar report on Bankruptcy Proceedings and Business Demographics from the data and technology company Experian. 

In Spain as a whole, 89,100 new companies have been created so far this year, compared to 83,436 in the same period last year. Thus, the number of companies in Spain is 20.6% higher than twelve months ago.

On the other hand, the dissolution of companies in the Canary Islands, 1,849 businesses between January and September, falls by 1.7%, while it decreases by an average of 4.3% in Spain. 

In addition, the report explains that, so far this year, there have been 89 bankruptcy proceedings in the Canary archipelago, 7.2% more than during the same period last year. 

In the country as a whole, with 4,289 bankruptcy proceedings between January and September, the rate increases by 29.4%
