The Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa is working on the preparation of the Activation Plan for the Stimulation of Sustainable Economic and Social Growth, a project that is executed thanks to the financing of the Island Council of Lanzarote with the aim of promoting the implementation of innovative projects oriented towards the change of economic model.

An action plan for economic development

This plan seeks to establish an operational and concrete framework to be developed in the coming years by the public and private sectors, focusing on social cohesion and the ecological and digital transition. Its main goal is to promote a balanced, sustainable, and diversified development of the island economies of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, responding to the urgent need for structural transformation in both islands.

Both Lanzarote and La Graciosa face significant socioeconomic challenges that require effective strategies to ensure long-term sustainable growth. To achieve this, the project contemplates the elaboration of an action plan that will define the necessary actions to stimulate economic and social growth in a sustainable and competitive manner, as well as the promotion and facilitation of its materialization, supporting its execution to turn them into a tangible reality.

Citizen participation in defining priorities

As a preliminary step, the Chamber is currently preparing a diagnosis of the economic situation of the island through meetings with the public and private sectors.

In addition, for the success of this plan, the involvement of the resident population and civil society as a whole organized through associations is essential, whose opinion will allow identifying key needs, opportunities, and challenges. To this end, a brief questionnaire has been designed for citizens and any interested group, available at this link and on the Chamber's website.

The Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa encourages the active participation of residents, entrepreneurs, and associations in this transformation process, convinced that collaboration will be key to building a prosperous and sustainable future in the islands.
