The meeting was attended by the CEL's president, Francisco Martínez; the general secretary, Beatriz Salazar, as well as other members of the Board of Directors and integrated organizations. From Coalición Canaria, the head of the list for Congress for Las Palmas, María Fernández, the candidate for the Senate for Lanzarote, Emilio Machín, the candidate for Congress for Lanzarote, Cristina Calero, and the Minister of Universities of the Government of the Canary Islands, Migdalia Machín, were present.
Beatriz Salazar took the opportunity to present different proposals to help the island's entrepreneurs. Specifically, she insisted on the importance of improving air and sea connectivity and making progress in terms of airport infrastructure.
She also highlighted the need to modernize the public employment service and ensure it is in communion with the island's business community. In addition, she emphasized issues of great importance such as the bonus for freight transport and support for the REF.
On the other hand, given the water emergency on the island, she placed special emphasis on compensating the primary sector and proposed "a reduction in their taxes in order to promote their development."
From Coalición Canaria, they valued the opportunity that this meeting provided to learn firsthand about the particularities of the island in order to defend its development and reality in Madrid. In addition, they agreed on the importance of improving sectors such as primary, transport, and housing to help the business sector of Lanzarote.
