The Lanzarote Business Confederation (CEL) demands that public administrations and regional, state and local governments
establish new mechanisms to streamline and simplify bureaucratic procedures when starting a company.
In the words of the president of the CEL, Francisco Martínez, “it is essential to eliminate the excess of bureaucracy and the network of paperwork and procedures that are requested when creating a company and that lengthen the deadlines unnecessarily”.
“In addition, it negatively affects the profitability of companies, by forcing unjustifiable travel and waiting times”.
“The difficulties faced by the business community go beyond the creation of companies”, laments Francisco Martínez, “since any procedure involves waiting times that, on too many occasions, ultimately make the businessman decide not to make the investment”.
The president adds that “the objective is for entrepreneurs and freelancers to be able to start their projects and create their companies more quickly, thus favoring investment on the island and more jobs”.
From the Lanzarote Business Confederation they emphasize that in order to attract investments to the island, a more agile and accessible, yet rigorous, Administration must be promoted.
The CEL considers it essential that procedures and requirements are not eternalized, as this generates a climate of distrust and insecurity in investors who encounter many obstacles and barriers, and who do not know when or how they will be able to start their projects.
In this way, the CEL urges public institutions to simplify and modernize administrative procedures in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness in public management, a fact that will undoubtedly have an impact on the development and progress of the island.
