Proexca, thanks to the sectorial plan carried out with the Maritime Cluster of the Canary Islands - CMC - , participates together with the companies of the Canary Islands in the international fair and congress of naval construction and maritime transport, Nor-Shipping of Oslo, one of the main meeting points of the global maritime industry.
In this way, and under the Canary Islands brand, the archipelago has a stand of 12 m² in the Spanish pavilion, seeking opportunities in an event of great importance for the maritime and naval industry, which is held every two years in Norway.
From the area of Foreign Promotion and with the on-site coordination of the Proexca delegation in Germany, networking has been favored and the opportunity for each company to maintain its agenda of meetings during the week that this fair has lasted with other companies, experts and industry leaders, to explore the latest trends, technologies and opportunities in the maritime sector.
Some companies have shown interest in the knowledge of the competitive advantages offered by the Canary Islands and a reverse trade mission to the archipelago is already being organized with the aim of learning more about the advantages of the Canary Islands as a hub compared to other European options.
There are five Canary Island companies participating in this fair: Zamakona Yards, Astican, Pérez y Cía, S. L., Canarship and Erhardt, some of them also financed their participation by the Chambers of Commerce of Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. In addition, representatives of the Port Authorities of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas and the Canary Islands Special Zone - ZEC attend with them.
For the manager of the Maritime Cluster of the Canary Islands, Elba Bueno, this is an opportunity to strengthen ties with the sector at European level, for the companies of the Canary Islands to show their experience in this industry and facilitate avenues for external growth. "One more year, Nor-Shipping on its 60th anniversary has lived up to our expectations, an event of great value for the European naval sector."
