The Canary Islands Government and the island councils meet with Ryanair in the face of the threat of strike and base closures

The President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, will meet this Tuesday with representatives of Ryanair in the Archipelago in view of the possible closure of the bases that the company has in Tenerife and Gran Canaria and the strike announced by the workers.

According to the regional Executive, the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, will also attend the meeting, as well as the presidents of Fuerteventura, Tenerife and Gran Canaria, together with the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Yaiza Castilla.

In the meeting, the Canarian Government and the council representatives intend to know firsthand the plans of this airline, given the consequences that the closure of bases and the strike, announced precisely in response to the possible dismantling of these bases, could have for the archipelago.
