The Employment Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the Lanzarote Business Confederation CEL are currently implementing the 'Employability 2018' project with FDCAN funds, whose main objective is to promote the incorporation and permanence of unemployed workers in the labor market through incentives for hiring by others, in addition to contributing to the improvement of the productivity and competitiveness of the island's business sector.
According to the CEL, any company domiciled in Lanzarote that hires unemployed workers registered with the Canarian Employment Service or similar registry may access these subsidies, through a labor contract with a minimum duration of six months full time. The applicant companies may benefit from a subsidy of 50% of the salary costs (salary plus social security) up to a maximum of 550 euros per month for one year, with the subsidy reaching a total amount of 6,600 euros.
The Lanzarote Business Confederation considers this type of project in collaboration with the Employment Department of the Cabildo to be "very positive", "which has allocated a significant portion of the FDCAN Funds to promote the hiring of unemployed people, contributing to the improvement of unemployment levels on the island." More information can be obtained on the CEL website or on the entity's telephone number available on the same.
