In this sense, the area councilor, Narvay Quintero, stressed that the aid granted, destined to cover expenses related to operation, has been reinforced "with an increase of about 30% to face the needs of the fishing sector in a context of rising input prices, compared to which we have also acted with aid such as those established as a result of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which have amounted to 900,000 euros in 2023 and total 3 million euros in 2024".
A total of 27 entities from the eight islands, all applicants, are using these funds to cover expenses derived from electricity supply, water, purchase of consumable office material, contracting mandatory insurance and the Occupational Risk Prevention and Safety and Hygiene at Work Plan.
They also cover the hiring of personnel under a labor regime or provision of professional services whose purpose is to improve technical, economic, computer assistance and support administrative or technical management, among other purposes.
In addition, expenses generated as a result of the development of professional activities, such as labor, tax and legal advice services, are financed.
