The Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Wines of Lanzarote communicates the "opening of the period to present candidacies" for the election of the members that will make up the Plenary. The Canary Islands Institute of Agri-Food Quality published, on August 9, in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC), the bases by which elections of representative members of the wine sectors are called. These will form the Plenary of the Regulatory Council of the Protected Designation of Origin of Lanzarote Wines.
The deadline begins this Wednesday, September 6, and will have a deadline of the 20th of the same month. Those interested must submit to the Electoral Commission, at the headquarters of the Regulatory Council, the candidacies corresponding to each of the sectors, complying with Base 8 of the call (published in the BOC No. 157 dated August 9, 2023).
The candidacies of the wine sector must be made up of "four winegrowers and four alternates", and endorsed with the signatures of, at least, "3% of the voters". In turn, the candidates from the wine sector must be made up of "four wineries and another four alternates", and endorsed, also, with the signatures of at least "3% of the voters."
At this time, the final censuses of both sectors are already on display in the Regulatory Council. As well as the agreement of the Electoral Commission approving them and ordering their publication on the bulletin board located at the headquarters of the Council, and on the website of the Regulatory Council. These documents will remain on display from "September 5 to September 20", both inclusive.
