Ryanair has notified the workers affected by the employment regulation file (ERE) that has been declared null and void by the National Court of their reinstatement in the airline's staff and their inclusion in the temporary employment regulation file (ERTE) due to force majeure to which it has availed itself due to the coronavirus crisis, according to the USO union.

These 224 workers affected by the ERE came from the bases of Tenerife, Lanzarote, Las Palmas and Girona, a procedure that was denounced by the workers' unions and that was declared null and void on April 24 by the National Court.

The ruling obliged the airline to reinstate the 224 affected workers with the same conditions as before the collective dismissal and the payment of the salaries not received, a decision that the company can appeal to the Supreme Court.

The registration of the workers in the Social Security has not yet taken place, which must be dated January 8, when the dismissal became effective. However, this reincorporation coincides with the state of alarm due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which also keeps the aviation sector paralyzed.

On the other hand, Ryanair announced last week its intention to lay off 3,000 workers, including pilots and cabin crew (TCP) throughout Europe within two years, in addition to restructuring schedules and salaries and closing bases.
