The airline Ryanair has eliminated the morning flight connecting Lanzarote with Madrid, thus reducing the island's connection with the capital of Spain to a single daily flight. This has complicated connections with the Peninsula, as the company had all seats sold out last week and the same has been repeated this week. In addition, some days there are no direct flights available from Air Europa and Iberia, which are the other two companies that have remained covering this route.
"We have had to reduce our operations between Madrid and Lanzarote in order to maintain services between Madrid and Tenerife South during the maintenance work being carried out on the runway of this airport," Raynair told La Voz to justify the elimination of one of the two daily flights they had between Lanzarote and Madrid, without giving further explanations as to why work at the Tenerife aerodrome affects Lanzarote.
In this way, from now until June 7, it will only be possible to fly from Lanzarote to Madrid in the afternoon, at 5:30 p.m. According to La Voz, through the Ryanair website, on June 7 the company will resume its connection with the capital in the morning, but only with a weekly frequency, which will operate on Thursdays, at 7 a.m. From Sunday, July 1, the Ryanair flight to Madrid in the morning will be available again for five days of the week, that is, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Every day it will operate at 9:15 a.m., except on Thursdays, which will also be at 7 a.m.
It should be remembered that Ryanair recently also canceled the route between Lanzarote and Barcelona, the reasons for this are unknown and whether the company intends to recover this connection at some point.
