The Town Hall of Tías collaborates, through the Social Welfare area directed by Nicolás Saavedra, in the celebration of the II Canary Islands Cooperativism Meeting, organized by the Transforming Cooperativism Commission of Red Anagos with the coordination of the Agroecology Office of La Palma.

Nicolás Saavedra, who recalls that the government group promoted in 2021 the launch of the RE+flota cooperative related to the cultivation and transformation of prickly pears, confirmed the commitment of the consistory to these initiatives and to this event, which will take place on October 3 at 4:30 p.m. in El Fondeadero.

The meeting, which is supported by the City Council and other entities, has been financed by the Canary Islands Employment Service of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Public Employment Service SEPE, of the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy of the Government of Spain.

The business model based on the principles of the social and solidarity economy, which puts the economy at the service of people and communities and in which activities of any field fit, from housing to energy, passing through agroecology, ethical finance, consulting or social intervention, will be addressed.

The transforming cooperativism and the social and solidarity economy in the Canary Islands will be discussed in depth and two resources for supporting eco-social entrepreneurship will be presented: the Canarina School, of the Canarina Foundation, and the Juana Millán School of Entrepreneurs, a project promoted for the Canary Islands by Red Anagos. After the presentations, attendees will be invited to a facilitated dialogue space around the subject.
