Órzola and La Graciosa, at the forefront of the reforms promoted by Puertos Canarios

The ports of Lanzarote and La Graciosa are the protagonists of some of the reforms planned by the public entity Puertos Canarios within its Strategic Framework 2026-2030 for the province of Las Palmas.

On the "rabbit island", the plan includes the expansion of esplanades and the comprehensive reorganization of the port of Órzola, infrastructure that will have a new passenger terminal and a space adapted to fishing activity. Likewise, the short-term program foresees direct interventions to optimize services in the ports of Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen.

In La Graciosa, the actions focus on the comprehensive beautification of Caleta del Sebo through several phases, highlighting that the pavement renovation works are already nearing completion. With this set of works, the entity seeks to modernize the connections between both islands and adapt its facilities to the increase in operational demand.

To these investments are added various projects in the rest of the province. In Gran Canaria, the works in Agaete stand out, where the new passenger terminal is about to be completed, the reorganization of the parking lot and the installation of a pedestrian cover, in addition to the recent reorganization of the inner dock in Arguineguín.

For its part, Fuerteventura concentrates key actions in Corralejo —with the recently concluded improvement of its docks—, Morro Jable and Gran Tarajal. The strategic framework also includes the dredging of the fishing shelters of Castillo del Romeral, San Cristóbal and La Aldea to guarantee navigability at any tide.
