The Chambers of Commerce of Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura, together with Banco Santander announce unana new edition of the SME of the Year Award, in which, during these ten years, 12,500 companies have participated and which has consolidated itself as the reference award to recognize the work and merits of small and medium-sized enterprises throughout the country as levers for wealth generation and job creation.
As a main novelty on the occasion of its tenth anniversary, the Business Legacy Mention will be awarded to recognize a company that stands out for its economic and social impact in its territory. This award will be presented alongside the SME of the Year and the four runners-up awards for Internationalization, Innovation and Digitalization, Training and Employment and Sustainable SME.
The deadline for submitting applications for the SME of the Year Award 2026 opens on March 10 and will close at 20:00 (peninsular time) on April 14.
All SMEs in the province with fewer than 250 employees and with an annual turnover of less than 50 million euros in the 2025 fiscal year, and with a registered office in the province of Las Palmas, may compete for the SME of the Year Award.
The winning company will compete for the National SME of the Year Award 2026, which will be decided in the first quarter of 2027. Likewise, the winning companies of the different runner-up prizes will compete for the National Award in their respective categories.
Interested companies must fill in the registration form that they will find on the website of the Chamber of Gran Canaria, of the Chamber of Lanzarote and La Graciosa and of the Chamber of Fuerteventura, where they can also consult the competition rules.
The jury will assess in its deliberations merits such as job creation, with special attention to permanent employment; training actions for employees; the internationalization of the company; digitalization and innovation initiatives, as well as the sustainable projects in which they have participated.
