Lanzarote's population increases by almost 3,000 residents and approaches 160,000 inhabitants

All the municipalities of the island increased their population in 2022, the capital added 1,000 more inhabitants

The population of Lanzarote increased until January 1, 2023 by 2,909 people, reaching a total of 159,021 residents, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

All the municipalities of the island gained population. Arrecife added 1,076 residents to 64,826 inhabitants, while the second most populated municipality on the island, Teguise, grew by 470 inhabitants to a total of 23,881 people.

Tías and San Bartolome, on the other hand, added 350 and 211 inhabitants respectively to 21,433 residents in Tías and 19,200 in San Bartolomé.

In Yaiza, the population growth in 2022 amounted to 491 people, reaching a total of 17,415 residents.

Tinajo added 186 inhabitants to a total of 6,759 residents, while the population of Haría grew by 125 people to 5,507.
