Lanzarote's business community, the most satisfied in the Canary Islands at the end of 2023

According to employers, job stability in Lanzarote (84.5%) will be much higher than the Canary Islands average (77%)

42.3% of Lanzarote's business community claims to have had favorable results in the last quarter of 2023, according to data from the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC).

On the negative side of the spectrum, 12.2% of Lanzarote companies claim to have had negative results, while 50% of Lanzarote's business community claims to have remained the same as in the previous period.

Lanzarote is the island that shows the most favorable situation data, followed by Gran Canaria and La Gomera.

However, looking ahead to the coming months, Lanzarote's business owners are less optimistic. 25.2% respond that they expect to improve their situation, while 17.1% respond that they expect it to worsen. 57.7% of those surveyed expect to remain in the same situation.

 

Job stability

Despite this, Lanzarote's business expectations for this quarter are only surpassed in the archipelago by those of La Gomera's business owners.

Regarding employment for the first months of 2024, only 4.1% responded that it will improve, while 11.4% responded negatively.

However, the majority of Lanzarote companies (84.5%) state that they will maintain employment, while the Canary Islands average is 77%.
