The president of Puertos de Las Palmas, Beatriz Calzada, met this Monday with businessmen, the port community and representatives of public administrations of Lanzarote with the aim of presenting the Strategic Plan 2035, with a vision for 2045, which Puertos de Las Palmas is preparing to chart its roadmap for the coming years.
The president was accompanied by the drafting team of the Strategic Plan, formed by the UTE KPMG Asesores S.L. – APORTA Consultores Estratégicos S.L., which will travel tomorrow Tuesday to the island of Fuerteventura to present the Plan to the port community of the Port of Puerto del Rosario.
The Plan in which the Port Authority has been working since last May aims to outline the strategies to follow to consolidate its ports as engines of economic development, to become the epicenter of global trade and logistics between Europe, Africa and America, and to position itself as a benchmark in sustainability. In this sense, she added: “We are a leading port platform in the Mid-Atlantic and serve as a connection hub between continents, but we want to go further, attract new business, become a mirror in which to look at sustainability policies and consolidate our position of international leadership”.
To this end, the Port Authority has already begun working with all the agents involved on the island of Gran Canaria, to whom those of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura are now added. “Their contributions are essential to enrich the analysis and conclusions derived from the Plan. Today we have informed them of the point at which the works are and we have encouraged them to participate actively, because the future of our ports is decided by all of us”, said Calzada.
It should be noted that the Port Authority of Las Palmas has enabled a mailbox (planestrategico2035@palmasport.es) so that interested parties can send their suggestions and opinions regarding the Strategic Plan.
