As a result of the low-cost gas station Plenoil opening its doors in Arrecife on July 30 with an opening price for a liter of gasoline below 1.2 euros, the rest of the establishments on the island lowered their prices to be able to compete.
The result was that Lanzarote became in August the island with the cheapest fuel in the archipelago, with an average price of 1.210 euros per liter, according to the Lanzarote Data Center.
Today Lanzarote has already accumulated four months in that position. The island had the lowest prices in the archipelago not only in August, but also in September (1.182) and October (1.162). It should be remembered that in July, a liter of gasoline had marked an average of 1.377 in Lanzarote.

The average cost of 95 gasoline in Lanzarote is currently 1.178 euros, while in Gran Canaria, the second cheapest island, it marks 1.181 euros. Next, Tenerife, where the liter is at 1.208 euros.
