The Governing Council of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has approved the extension for four years of the collaboration agreement with Proexca, thus boosting its commitment to the internationalization of the island's productive fabric and the attraction of foreign investment to strategic sectors of the island.
This extension will allow to continue and reinforce the actions developed so far in the field of external promotion of local products and services, especially in sectors such as agri-food, fashion and other areas with development potential, such as advanced tourism services, the circular economy or renewable energies.
The president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, highlights the importance of renewing this alliance with Proexca "at a key moment to diversify and strengthen our economy." "Lanzarote cannot be left behind in an increasingly globalized world. We need to open new doors to our products, support our companies in their export and, at the same time, position the island as an attractive place for strategic investment," said Betancort.
In this sense, the Councilor for Economic Promotion, Nori Machín, stresses that this collaboration follows a line of work marked by the success of previous actions, with international projection. "This agreement provides us with tools to support our companies in their internationalization, identify opportunities in new markets and improve the external visibility of Lanzarote as a competitive, dynamic and attractive territory for investment."
The renewal of this agreement until 2029 is financed with 80,000 euros contributed equally between both administrations and is part of Proexca's strategy to increase its presence in all the islands of the Archipelago, thus facilitating that local companies can access instruments and internationalization actions that reduce uncertainty and allow them to compete on equal terms with the support of the Government of the Canary Islands.
