Lanzarote Airport passenger traffic falls in June for the fourth consecutive month

With respect to last year, the drop in passengers at Lanzarote airport is greater than the average for the Canary Islands, but less than that recorded in Fuerteventura or Tenerife South

The Canary Islands airports registered in the first six months of 2026 a total of 26,847,826 passengers, 0.7% less than in the same period last year.

At César Manrique-Lanzarote airport, a total of 4,312,800 passengers were counted between January and June, which represents 1% less than in the same period of 2025. 

Of the 26,729,685 commercial travelers in the Canary Islands, 10,647,275 traveled on domestic flights, 0.2% less than in the first six months of 2025, and 16,082,410 traveled on international flights, 0.8% less.

Gran Canaria Airport registered the highest number of passengers with 7,917,801 (+0.5%), followed by Tenerife Sur Airport with 6,845,121 (-2.9%); César Manrique-Lanzarote with 4,312,800 (-1%); Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna with 3,514,967 (+2.5%); Fuerteventura with 3,271,894 (-3%); La Palma with 778,446 (+4.1%); El Hierro with 147,768 (+2.6%) and La Gomera with 59,029 (-1.4%).

Between January and June, 240,811 aircraft movements were managed and 15,381 tons of cargo were transported.

The Canary Islands airports registered a total of 4,153,154 passengers in June, 0.9% less than in the same period last year. Of the total number of travelers, 4,130,092 correspond to commercial flight passengers, of whom 1,996,594 traveled on domestic flights, 1.9% more than in June 2025, and 2,133,498 traveled on international flights, 3.4% less.

Gran Canaria Airport accumulated the highest number of passengers, with 1,180,730, representing an increase of 0.4% compared to June 2025. It is followed by Tenerife Sur Airport with 935,707 passengers (-5.7%); César Manrique-Lanzarote with 704,815 (-1.5%); Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna with 645,057 (+3.5%); Fuerteventura with 520,539 (-2.1%); La Palma with 128,763 (+10.6%); El Hierro with 26,540 (+2.1%) and La Gomera with 11,003 (+1.5%).

In addition, 38,629 aircraft movements were managed and 2,395 tons of cargo were transported.
