In its ongoing commitment to safety and prevention, the Lanzarote Safety and Emergency Consortium has transferred a fire truck to the island of La Graciosa, thus reinforcing the capacity to respond to fires and other emergencies on the eighth island.
"We are continuing with our commitment to reinforce security in La Graciosa, which already has firefighters 365 days a year and two 4x4 vehicles adapted to its needs. With this truck, we are taking one step further in improving the resources available for emergency care,” said the president of the Lanzarote Safety and Emergency Consortium, Francisco J. Aparicio.
The new 4x4 fire fighting vehicle, which is a Heavy Rural Pump (BRP), which will remain permanently on the island, has a capacity of 3,000 liters of water, which represents a significant improvement over the first intervention vehicle that La Graciosa had until now, which had a capacity of only 500 liters.
"With this reinforcement we went from having a vehicle with 500 liters of water to one with 3,000 liters, which will allow us to act more effectively in case of fire and substantially improve the safety of residents and visitors to La Graciosa," explained Aparicio.
The arrival of this new truck is part of the plan to improve emergency services in La Graciosa, guaranteeing a greater operational capacity to deal with any incident. In addition to reinforcing the vehicles, the Consortium maintains an operational team of firefighters on the island 365 days a year, ensuring a rapid response to any eventuality.
"We continue to bet on providing La Graciosa with the necessary means for its protection and security. This truck is one more step in the consolidation of an efficient emergency service, adapted to the island reality and the needs of its inhabitants," concluded the president of the Consortium.
