A total of 46,018 vulnerable households in the province of Las Palmas, according to data from the Ministry for Ecological Transition, are very aware of whether the Government decides to renew the electricity social bonus against energy poverty that expires at the end of this month.
There is a lot at stake. In just over ten days, if the central government does not extend the aid, the prohibition of cutting off basic supplies such as gas or electricity for all those households will also end.
The discounts on the electricity bonus range between 65% and 80%, depending on the category and degree of vulnerability. If not renewed, aid to vulnerable families will again range between 25% and 40%.
In addition, the energy justice bonus, which allows working families with low incomes to obtain a 40% discount on their electricity bill, also expires on June 30.
On the other hand, the Government also has to decide these days whether to raise the Special Electricity Tax again.
