Canaries backs the work of 14 agricultural associations with 350,000 euros, one of them from Lanzarote

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food Sovereignty of the Government of the Canary Islands has published the Resolution granting subsidies intended to support the work of non-profit agricultural professional associations for an amount of 350,000 euros.

Financed with own funds from the Canarian Executive, these grants contribute to covering both current, operating, and management expenses as well as those arising from training, dissemination, and representation activities of the various agricultural professional entities at the regional and island level.

The Deputy Minister of the Primary Sector, Eduardo García Cabello, highlighted "the essential role that agricultural professional organizations play in the defense and representation of the interests of farmers and ranchers, as well as in the permanent dialogue between the sector and public administrations".

García Cabello stressed that "having a solid and active associative fabric allows for more effective channeling of the sector's needs, sharing of knowledge, optimization of resources, and facing challenges such as the modernization of farms or generational renewal with greater capacity".

A total of fourteen agricultural professional associations are benefiting from these funds: COAG-Canarias, Association of Artisan Cheese Makers of Lanzarote, ASAGA Canarias ASAJA, Provincial Federation of Associations of Exporters of Horticultural Products of Las Palmas (FEDEX), Association of Farmers and Ranchers (AGAC), Free Agricultural Platform of the Canary Islands (PALCA), Association of Beekeepers of Tenerife (APITEN), Association of Beekeepers of Gran Canaria (APIGRANCA), Association of the Farmers' Market of Tacoronte, Association of Breeders of the Majorera Goat, Business Association of Livestock and Dairy Industries, Association of Flower Growers and Exporters (ASOCAN), Palmera Association of Farmers and Ranchers, and Association of Organizations of Producers of Tropical and Subtropical Fruits of the Canary Islands.

Beneficiary entities have a maximum deadline of October 31 to carry out the activity subject to the subsidy. Likewise, a deadline of ten days for the justification of the actions carried out is established, counted from November 1, 2026.
