More than 58 stands, 40 startups and 40 experts are meeting until September 20 at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to lay the foundations for entrepreneurship and technological innovation.

“It is precisely the commitment of the current regional government to facilitate the development of the startup ecosystem in our archipelago, for which we are launching various lines of work that allow entrepreneurs to scale their business ideas as well as bring private financing closer to these nascent projects, with instruments such as a fund of funds that encourages public-private investment in emerging companies established in the Canary Islands”, said González de Vega.

Canarias Destino Startup represents the largest national event held in the archipelago for entrepreneurship and innovation where the main actors of the ecosystem meet: startups and SMEs, entrepreneurial initiatives of the archipelago, organizations of interest, business angels and venture capital from all over the country. The event, organized by AJE Las Palmas, has the collaboration of Proexca and its Invest in the Canary Islands area.

González de Vega also shared a round table on taxation with the director of promotion and services to entities of the ZEC, Alejandro Cañeque, and the tax manager of pWC, Héctor Ortega, thus delving into one of the competitive advantages that the Canary Islands present compared to other territories to stand out as a business destination for the technology industry.

This second edition of Canarias Destino Startup strengthens the meeting in the archipelago, which gains the presence of leading international companies in the sector such as Amazon Web Services, Repsol and Microsoft or leading entities such as Enisa, CDTI, Lanzadera, CaixaBank DayOne and Female Startup Leaders, among others.
