Each voucher will have a value of 50 euros, of which half will be contributed by the consumer and the other half will be financed by the General Directorate of Commerce and Consumption of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Chambers of Commerce, which act as managers.

The program, financed by the Ministry of Economy, Industry, Trade and Self-Employed of the Government of the Canary Islands and managed in collaboration with the four Chambers of Commerce of the Canary Islands, will have a total investment of 3 million euros, of which 2,448,000 euros are directly allocated to vouchers, while the rest will cover the management and development costs of the program.

The amount allocated to vouchers will mean an injection of 4.895.900 euros into the commercial fabric of the Archipelago, through the direct investment that consumers will make in the affiliated establishments and the contribution of the Government of the Canary Islands. In the previous edition, the total investment was 2.537.000 euros, of which 2 million euros were allocated to vouchers, which evidences the growth and consolidation of this commercial revitalization tool.

The vice president and minister of Economy, Manuel Domínguez, highlighted that this second edition “reinforces the commitment of the Government of the Canary Islands to local commerce and therefore with the self-employed, a sector we continue to support with specific measures to facilitate their activity, strengthen their competitiveness and contribute to the creation and consolidation of employment in the islands”.

For his part, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Santiago Sesé, who spoke on behalf of the Chambers of Commerce, pointed out that “this campaign represents a very useful tool to mobilize local consumption and offer new opportunities to thousands of small businesses in the Canary Islands, which are an essential part of the economy and employment in our territory.”

How to buy vouchers and where to spend them

The vouchers may only be used in participating establishments on the island where they were acquired, thus favoring local consumption throughout the Archipelago. Self-employed individuals, micro-enterprises, and small businesses with an establishment open to the public in the Canary Islands may join, provided they meet the requirements established in the terms and conditions. Excluded, among others, are public administrations, non-profit organizations, department stores, large retail stores, food distribution chains, and certain national or international franchises and subsidiaries.

The user persons must be of legal age, identify themselves with their DNI at the time of purchase and may acquire a maximum of 4 vouchers on each island (100 euros), but may purchase for double the amount invested (200 euros). The vouchers will be nominative, non-transferable, non-refundable and may only be used for in-person purchases, although they will be compatible with discounts, promotions and establishment sales.

Each affiliated establishment will have a maximum of 5,000 euros in redemption, although this limit may be extended if the program's evolution advises it. Establishments must manage the settlement of the vouchers through the enabled platform and present the corresponding supporting documentation, which will be paid within a maximum period of 15 days from its validation.

The establishments that will be able to participate will be those of electronics, computing, telephony, DIY, toy stores, fashion and accessories, sports, among others. Users, in any case, will be able to see the affiliated establishments on the platform's website.
