In December 2021, the number of tenders stood at 10, 33.3% lower than in the same month in 2020. However, dissolutions rose to 129, above the 81 in December 2020.

In Spain as a whole, there were 5,862 tenders and 27,760 dissolutions registered in Spain, 34% more in the first case and 20% more in the second compared to 2020, figures that had not been reached since 2014 and 2013, respectively.

All sectors grew in the number of tenders since January last year, except for communications, which cut back by 9%, and financial intermediation, which decreased by 2%.

The leading sectors in 2021 in tenders are: commerce, with 1,247; followed by construction and real estate activities, with 1,107; and hospitality, with 922. The latter is the one that grows the most in the year-on-year, 101%.

Also, in December, the same sectors are the most affected: commerce registers 90 tenders, 8% less; construction and real estate activities, 83, 20% more; and hospitality remains at 55, which is 26% less.

Regarding dissolutions, they only decrease in two sectors in the accumulated annual: energy, where they fall by 26%, and extractive industries, in which they fall by 4%.

In addition, construction and real estate activities, with 6,624, and commerce, with 5,477, lead the dissolution processes in 2021. If we add the 4,450 dissolutions of business services, they account for nearly 60% of the total. In December, they are also the top three with 792, 690 and 504, respectively.

The Director of Studies at Informa, Nathalie Gianese, commented that 2021 closes with the "highest" number of tenders since 2014 and with hospitality as the sector where they have "increased the most, doubling those of 2020".
